After much deliberation from the Department of Education regarding what roofing product to use on the TIYEMELELI Primary School in Bush Buck Ridge, Mpumalanga. Global Innovative Building Systems was nominated to supply the Shingle Roofing System.
A 2800m² project, the final decision was based on the fact that this roof covering required minimal maintenance, is easily installed, has many long term benefits but mostly …. something completely different !
Management from Global Innovative Building Systems felt humbled at experiencing the absolute joy and excitement of the pupils and teachers when visiting the completed school in June this year. Aesthetically pleasing, the roof adds a new dimension and a real sense of upliftment within the Community. Their sense of pride certainly pulled at our heart-strings.
The site was visited by a representative from our principles, Owens Corning. He was “so impressed with the colour choice, which blended into the surroundings perfectly and also made mention of the quality and standard of installation which compared very favourably with our overseas counterparts.”
Moving forward, Global Innovative Building Systems will undertake to assist Communities by educating them about the Shingle Roofing System and promote skill development providing professional training to install the product according to the Manufacturer’s specifications.
Admittedly, using the Shingles for the first time on this type of project was a huge step… but one that has most certainly paid off and has lead to many similar type projects Countrywide.
